MULTIPLE ARRESTS MADE IN DISTRICTS 4 AND 10

(10/17/2006) NEW HAVEN – Officers assigned to the Street Interdiction Detail made arrests in both the Dwight/Chapel and Beaver Hill neighborhoods over the weekend and seized a Colt .38-caliber revolver.

On Friday, 13 October, Johnny Milton, 19, of 21 Westerly Road, was arrested in the area of 555 Whalley Avenue. He was charged with possession of a narcotic substance, possession of a narcotic substance within 1500 feet of a school, possession of a narcotic substance with intent to sell, possession of a narcotic substance with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school, and interfering. Police seized seven bags of crack.

In the area of Blake Street and Osborn Avenue, Cornelius Hubbard, 23, of 248 Winthop Avenue, was served with an outstanding warrant.

Jymeson Jones, 39, of 1551 Ella Grasso Boulevard, was arrested in the area of 119 Hobart Street. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance within 1500 feet of a school. Police seized one bag of marijuana.

At 802 George Street, police arrested Wayne Bush, 48, of 19 Hemingway Place. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance within 1500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school. Police seized one bag of marijuana and 10.6 grams of marijuana.

On Saturday, 14 October, in the area of Sherman and Whalley avenues, Mark Spencer, 49, of Hamden, was arrested and charged with possession of a narcotic substance, possession of a narcotic substance within 1500 feet of a school, possession of a narcotic substance with intent to sell, possession of a narcotic substance with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school, and trespass. Police seized 15 Percocet pills. They also recovered a Colt .38-caliber revolver.

At Sherman Avenue and Chapel Street, a 14-year-old juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance within 1500 feet of a school. Police seized one bag of marijuana.

Manuel Sosa, 30, of 128 Derby Avenue, was arrested in the area of Howard and Congress avenues on an outstanding warrant. At 334 Sherman Avenue, police arrested George Young, 23, of Hamden on an outstanding warrant.

On Monday, 16 October, police arrested James Smith, 44, of Hamden, in the area of 284 Whalley Avenue, and charged him with possession of a narcotic substance and possession of a narcotic substance within 1500 feet of a school. Police seized one bag of crack.

In the area of Gilbert Street and Whalley Avenue, LaAustralia Barry, 36, of 1258 Ella Grasso Boulevard, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance within 1500 feet of a school. Christopher Clark, 22, of Orange, was charged with criminal attempt to possess a controlled substance and improper parking. Police seized $50 and one bag of marijuana.

At 59 Derby Avenue, Ishmael Mack, 20, of 674 Elm Street, was arrested and charged with trespass.

Lanzo Randolph, 39, of 57 Judson Avenue, was arrested in the area of Mead Street and Judson Avenue and charged with interfering with police, inciting a riot, disorderly conduct and assault on a police officer. Shaniece Randolph, 25, of the same address, was arrested and charged with interfering with police, inciting a riot and disorderly conduct.
